About Us
Woven with British wool
We use a variety of British wools. The sheep are raised in Britain and their fleeces are spun and dyed in Britain too. Our tweeds are handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and the finishing of the tweeds all takes place in Scotland.
Handwoven in Scotland
Every metre of our tweed is hand-warped before being handwoven on treadle-powered looms. As a weaving family we take great pride in weaving high quality cloth that bears our family name. When designing Tweed we draw on inspiration from the varied and beautiful landscape of Scotland and the rich weaving culture of the Outer Hebrides.
Family of experienced weavers
Catherine and Reg Amor are based in Shawbost on the Isle of Lewis and they have been handweaving tweed since 2011. In the following years they tutored their son Jim and his partner Jess who started weaving their own designs in 2014 and are now located in North Tolsta also on the Isle of Lewis.
